MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian cycling team Minsk will make their debut in the UCI Cycling Women’s World Tour - Tour of Chongming Island which is due to take place in China on 5-7 May, BelTA has learned.
The team led by Tatyana Sharakova who has already earned the first rating points for Minsk during this season’s Gracia Orlova in the Czech Republic will also include Darya Datsik, Taisiya Noskovich, Anastasia Safonova, Anna Terekh and Marina Shevchenko.
The program will comprise three stages of 118.8km, 135.4km and 111.6km. The event will be held on Chongming Island, not far from Shanghai.
Taking part in Tour of Chongming Island will be the world’s best women’s cycling teams. “For a young Belarusian team, the participation in such a prestigious event is a huge experience and a perfect chance to show their best,” the cycling club said.
After Tour of Chongming Island, the Belarusian team will take part in 2.2 Tour of Zhoushan Island on 10-12 May.
