Medals for Belarusian weightlifters in Havana

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Belarusian weightlifters are competing at the Weightlifting Grand Prix in Havana, Cuba. It is one of the 2024 Olympics qualifying events, BelTA has learned. 

Petr Asayonak clinched the 89kg gold with the total of 368kg (162kg+206kg). Belarus’ Siuzanna Valodzka claimed the 71kg silver with the total of 242kg (108kg+134kg). Earlier, Belarus’ Dziyana Maiseyevich won the 64kg gold, Alina Shchepanova (59kg) and Andrey Frolov (73kg) collected bronze medals.

Competing in the Cuban capital are 13 Belarusian athletes (eight men and five women). They are taking part in the event in the neutral status.
