MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Opera stars of the Mariinsky Theater Natalia Tymchenko and Vladimir Galouzine will perform in Minsk on 24 November, BelTA learned from senior editor of the information department of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Elena Balabanovich.
“Soloists of the Mariinsky Theater from St. Petersburg will take to the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus in Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida opera staged by director Mikhail Pandzhavidze. Natalia Tymchenko will perform the leading role of the captive Ethiopian princess, while Vladimir Galouzine will sing the part of the Egyptian military leader Radames,” Elena Balabanovich said.
In her words, the opera will also feature the stars of the Bolshoi Theater: Honored Artists of Belarus Oksana Volkova, Andrei Valentiy and Vladimir Gromov. The conductor is Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktor Ploskina.
Vladimir Galouzine is the People's Artist of Russia, tenor, known for the roles of Lensky in Eugene Onegin opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Vladimir Igorevich in Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin, Alexei in The Gambler by Sergei Prokofiev, Calaf in the Turandot opera and Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini and many others. He performed in many famous opera houses, worked together with famous conductors Valery Gergiev, Carlo Rizzi, Marcello Viotti and with renowned opera directors Franco Zeffirelli and Graham Vick.
Natalia Tymchenko is one of the most popular singers of the Mariinsky Theater. She has performed in many renowned opera houses of the world, including Carnegie Hall, Liceu, the Theater an der Wien, the Marseille Opera and Baden-Baden Festival Theater. In the Mariinsky Theater she performs the roles of Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Lisa (the Queen of Spades by Pyotr Tchaikovsky), Zemfira (Aleko by Sergei Rachmaninoff), Liu (Turandot), Amelia (A Masked Ball by Giuseppe Verdi), and many others.
