MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) - Maria Guleghina will perform a solo recital in the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus on 1 February, BelTA learned from the theater.

The press has described her as "The best Tosca of her time","the soprano with Verdi flowing through her veins","vocal miracle". “The tours of the opera diva are scheduled for several years in advance. But she found time to come to Minsk,” the theater said.
 
Maria Guleghina began her professional career at the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, and a year later made her debut in La Scala and then the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, Gran Teatro del Liceo, Vienna State Opera and other major opera venues of Europe, America and Asia. The singer's voice of amazing beauty, outstanding acting abilities made her a welcome guest on the most famous stages of theaters of the world.

Her repertoire includes the title roles in Aida, Manon Lescaut, Norma, Fedora, Adriana Lecouvreur, as well as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Abigaille in Nabucco, Violetta in La Traviata, Leonora in Il Trovatore and many others. She has performed with the world’s best singers and conductors including Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Leo Nucci, Renato Bruson, Jose Cura and Samuel Ramey. She has appeared in the productions led by maestros Riccardo Muti and Gianandrea Gavazzeni, James Levine and Claudio Abbado, Valery Gergiev, Fabio Luisi.

Maria Guleghina is the recipient of numerous prizes and awards including the prize for her debut at the Arena di Verona, Bellini Prize, the Arte e Operosita nel mondo prize from Milan, Maria Zamboni gold medal, gold medal at the Osaka Festival etc.
Maria Guleghina is the honorary board member to the International Paralympic Committee and the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
