MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – The 11th International Festival of Christian Films and TV Programs Magnificat 2015 will feature 48 films from 16 countries. The festival takes place from 30 August to 3 September, BelTA learned from the Roman-Catholic Church in Belarus.
The contest program of the Magnificat 2015 film festival includes films of directors from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Serbia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Poland, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, India and the United States. The festival will also feature a joint work of Armenian and Argentinean specialists.
The first day of the competition took place in Minsk. On 31 August the festival moved to Glubokoye. Films will be also shown in the Udelo agrotown.
The festival traditionally includes a contest of cartoons for children. It will have a children’s jury.
The international festival Magnificat features the best works of cinema specialists and producers of TV programs. It aims to promote Christian and universal values. The forum has been held in Belarus since 2005. It is held under the aegis of the Conference of Catholic Bishops in Belarus. The festival was founded by the Catholic Association Signis-Belarus, the Stop-Kadr Studio, the Vitebsk Catholic Diocese and The Dialogue Newspaper.
