MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of birthday greetings to Metropolitan Filaret, Patriarchal Exarch Emeritus of All Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“By your service you have made a big contribution to the development of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. Your universal authority has always helped solve civil and religious issues,” the felicitation message reads.

The head of state remarked that Metropolitan Filaret is by right considered the most revered bishop in Belarus. His pastoral and mentoring experience is in demand in modern conditions and helps enhance the spiritual unity of the Belarusian society.
