MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Logos of the five tourist areas in Belarus have been designed under the EU project “Support to sustainable tourism development in Belarus”, project leader Janez Sirse told a press conference in BelTA’s press center.
The project involves five pilot regions: Polotsk, Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Myadel District and Lake Naroch, Mstislavl, Augustow Canal. The tourism development strategies have been drawn up for these regions. “During this work we received many recommendations. When designing the logos, designers focused on the Belarusian history and folklore,” Janez Sirse said. The logos will be unveiled at the international conference on tourism “Destination branding: innovative ideas for attracting tourists” due in Minsk on 6-7 July.
In the course of the project “Support to sustainable tourism development in Belarus” seminars and trainings were held to discuss the strategies for developing the concept of tourism development and effective use of marketing tools to promote a destination (a territory with all kinds of amenities, facilities and services to meet all kinds of needs). The project will help improve the quality and range of tourist services, introduce the European experience and knowledge in tourism management, improve the interaction between local authorities, service providers and other stakeholders. It will also help increase the inflow of tourists to regions of Belarus, Janez Sirse believes.
