Listapad 2016 program to feature 159 films

The 23rd Minsk International Film Festival ListapadMINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – The program of the 23rd edition of Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will include 159 films, BelTA learned from the organizers of the forum.

83 of them will make part of the competition program. The feature film competition program will present 11 films, while the Youth on the March program will feature 12. Eight films will be competing in the children’s and youth competition, with 12 films making the documentary program. The national film schools competition will feature 16 films from six film schools. The national competition program will display 24 films.

Partaking in the forum will be 45 countries.

The film festival will be hosted by the Tsentralny, Mir, Pioner and Pobeda cinema houses, and also the Museum of the Belarusian Film History. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held in the Moskva Cinema House.

The program of the festival will also include three exhibitions: Andrzej Wajda’s Films on the World Film Poster (Mikhail Savitsky Art Gallery, 2-11 November), an anniversary exhibition and the retrospective screening Janis Streics: Films, People, Epoch (Belarusian Film Museum, 3-11 November), the exhibition about silent movies in Belarus (National History Museum of Belarus, 5 November 2016-15 January 2017).

On 5-10 November the industrial platform of the Listapad Film Festival will gather representatives of the film industry: filmmakers, producers, playwrights and actors to discuss the current issues related to the development of the national film industry.

The 23rd Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will be held on 4-11 November. The organizers are the center of visual and performing arts ART Corporation, the Culture Ministry and Minsk City Hall with the participation of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company, National Film Studio Belarusfilm, and Belarusian Union of Cinematographers.
