MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – The level of organization of the General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in Belarus was lauded by participants from different countries. The matter was discussed during the meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Japan Sergei Rakhmanov and IEC President, Corporate Advisor at Panasonic Corporation, Dr. Junji Nomura on 5 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the results of the IEC General Meeting held in Belarus in October 2015.
“The IEC President praised the level of organization of the IEC General Meeting in Belarus. Dr. Junji Nomura emphasized that he received very positive comments about the event from representatives of different countries,” the press service added.
The high level of electrotechnical standardization and certification in Belarus was lauded. Besides, the parties stressed that such large-scale forums play an important role in attracting international businesses to the country.
Apart from that, Sergei Rakhmanov and Junji Nomura discussed opportunities for strengthening the cooperation between Belarus and Japan in technology and investment with the participation of Panasonic Corporation.
Partaking in the IEC General Meeting were more than 1,000 specialists from 86 countries. Japan was one of the largest delegations at the forum with some 100 members.
