MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – The Latin-American research center will open at the department of international business communications of the Belarusian State Economic University, BelTA learnt from the Press House.
The decision to set up the center was taken to promote partnership between Belarus and Latin America. The center will provide teachers, students and other stakeholders the possibility of getting authentic information on the countries of Latin America as well as holding talks with foreign specialists-experts, the Press House said.
The center will be engaged in various areas, including economy, history, geography, literature, pedagogy, art, environment, politics, law, sociology, traditions, communications, and international relations.
The development of the Latin-American research center envisages active cooperation between universities and other establishments, participants of Belarusian-Latin American projects through the examination of issues related to the Latin-American region, research, discussions, training of specialists and distribution of knowledge about Latin America with the assistance of government bodies, diplomatic and cultural representations of the region accredited in Belarus.
The official opening ceremony of the center is scheduled for 20 January.
