MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Visitors to the 8th Warsaw Book Fair had an opportunity to get familiar with the latest products of the Belarusian publishing industry from 18 to 21 May, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Information Ministry.
The international fair featured Belarus’ national stand “Books of the Republic of Belarus” themed around the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing. The stand was attended by Warsaw Book Fair Director General Jacek Oryl and President of the Book Publishers’ Association Rafal Czapski.
Apart from the best publishing products of 2016 and 2017, the Belarusian stand showcased books issued by the state publishing houses Mastatskaya Litaratura, Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia, Belarus, Zviazda, and Narodnaya Asveta. Besides, the stand featured books about Francysk Skaryna published to mark the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing.
During the fair, the Belarusian delegation donated a collection of books to the Belarusian culture center in Poland.
This year’s edition of the Warsaw Book Fair gathered representatives of some 800 publishing houses from 32 countries. Germany was the guest of honor.
