MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Kyrgyz Cinema Days will take place in Minsk and will last for three days, BelTA learned from representatives of the Kyrgyzstan Cinema Development Foundation.
The festival will begin today with the movie Red Apple directed by Tolomush Okeyev. The screenplay has been inspired by a story written by Chinghiz Aitmatov. The movie tells a story about a young man named Temir, who met a girl of extraordinary beauty but stayed in love with her from afar, meeting and seeing her off in a crowd of pedestrians. The main character tried to present the girl a red apple as a beautiful symbol of his dream about happiness but faced only lack of understanding and even hostility. Several years later Temir started a family, a house of his own, and started thinking about kids. But memory of unrequited love still lingers on.
On 5 March moviegoers will be able to see the movie Centaur directed by Aktan Arym Kubat. It tells the story about a quest for god, about a man desperately fighting to preserve traditions of his people. It is a saga about a metaphysical connection between the horse and the man, with the former giving wings to the latter.
The Kyrgyz Cinema Days will end on 6 March with the movie Night Accident directed by Temir Birnazarov. The plot was inspired by works of Talip Ibraimov. The film is a minimalistic but poetic story about an old man, who once again regained the purpose of life after encountering a wounded unknown girl while travelling on his motorcycle with a sidecar along a rural road one night.
All the films will be shown in the Belarus movie theater in Minsk. Admittance is free.
The Kyrgyz Cinema Days have been arranged by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus with assistance of the Culture Ministry.
