MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Korea University is ready to arrange internships for Belarusian students at Samsung and LG, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian State University (BSU) following the meeting of the senior officials of the two universities.
BSU welcomed a delegation of Korea University led by its President Jaeho Yeom. The parties discussed educational partnerships and ways to scale up cooperation as part of the 2011 agreement signed by the universities. “Top on the agenda of the meeting were academic mobility programs in IT, medicine, biology, chemistry and public administration. In particular, representatives of the Korean University invited BSU staff to come to Korea to undertake English-language lecture courses in these areas. The president of Korea University emphasized interest in student exchanges and internships for Belarusians at big companies like Samsung, LG and SK Communications”, the press service informed.
BSU Rector Andrei Korol upheld the initiative of his Korean counterpart to arrange academic exchange programs for students and university staff who will be able to study international practices. In the near future the universities will come up with specific proposals to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in science and education.
Korea University was established in 1905. It is one of the nation’s four most prestigious universities out of 192 rated institutions of higher education. The university has over 47,000 students. Korea University is ranked high by many international rating agencies. It was ranked 86th by QS World University Rankings, 276th by Webometrics and 188th by Shanghai Ranking.
