MINSK, 10 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Tatsiana Khaladovich won the silver medal in javelin throw at the prestigious Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern, Switzerland, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian athlete was leading in the interim report for a long time. In round three she showed the result of 65.58m. Australian Kelsey-Lee Barber surpassed the Belarusian in round six by sending her spear out to a meeting record of 67.70m. Tatsiana Khaladovich also saved her best for last but her 66.18m was not enough to win gold. Bronze went to Christin Hussong from Germany (64.62m). The German athlete was victorious at the Diamond League meeting on Saturday, 6 July, with 66.59m, Tatsiana Khaladovich was fifth with 62.07m.
This season Tatsiana Khaladovich’s best is 67.22m which she showed during the 2nd European Games at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk.
This season the Belarusian athlete will take part in the Europe vs United States athletics match due in Minsk on 9-10 September and the IAAF World athletics Championships in Doha on 27 September - 6 October.
