MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian State Museum of Vernacular Architecture and Ethnic Heritage will host the international festival Kamyanitsa 2015 on 5 September. Partaking in the festival will be folk bands Dzikie Jablka (Poland), Trad Attack! (Estonia), and DrymbaDaDzyga (Ukraine), BelTA learned from the organizers of the event.
The program of the festival also features Belarus’ best folk bands such as Stary Olsa, Altanka, Yagorava Gara, and Vuraj. The folk metal band Znich will finish the program of Kamyanitsa 2015.
“The festival preserves its democratic touch, and its program is getting more diverse. Different countries, traditions and approaches to folk music will meet on one stage. This is going to be a great pleasure both for the audience and the musicians themselves,” Oleg Khomenko, a member of the organizing committee of the festival, believes.
The program of Kamyanitsa 2015 also features a big fair of Belarusian culture with folk crafts, dances, games, and exhibitions. Besides, there will be one more stage for student bands and amateur folk groups. Applications for the fair and the second stage will be open till 25 August.
The Belarusian State Museum of Vernacular Architecture and Ethnic Heritage in the village of Ozertso has been holding the festival since 2009. The collected money helps maintain the largest in Belarus collection of wooden architecture of the 18th-20th centuries. The seventh edition of Kamyanitsa has been organized with the support of OAO Bank BelVEB.
