MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – Lena Arnaud of France won gold in the 7.5km Junior Women's Sprint of the ongoing IBU Youth/Junior World Championships at Belarus’ Raubichi in 20:40.6. Alexander Dedyukhin of Russia, the silver medalist in the individual, won gold in the 10km Junior Men's Sprint in 24:49.0. Both gold medalists shot clean, BelTA has learned.
Galina Vishnevskaya of Kazakhstan, the silver medalist of the individual competition, took silver in the Junior Women’s Sprint, 2.4 seconds back. Arnaud's teammate Chloe Chevalier took bronze, 13.1 seconds back.
Yevgenia Yakovleva of Belarus missed one target to finish 10th, 53.3 seconds back. Yakovleva’s teammate Tatiana Trifonova came in 24th, 1:45 behind the winning time. Belarus’ Anastasia Kunets finished 37th (2:17.5 back), while Svetlana Markovskaya was 39th (2:33.1).
Silver of the 10km Junior Men's Sprint went to France's Fabien Claude, 4.6 seconds back with one miss. Bronze was collected by Sean Doherty of the USA, 10.2 seconds back, one penalty.
Maxim Vorobei of Belarus was 16th, 1:48.1 back, with three penalties. Viktor Krivko was 24th, 2:14.3 back, four misses. Yevgeny Lipai finished 43rd, 3:05 back, two penalties. Vladislav Medyukho came in 74th, 5:09.1 back, three penalties.
