MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) - Marie Heinrich of Germany shot perfectly to win gold in the 10K Junior Women's Pursuit of the 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Belarus' Raubichi in 27:58.3. Eduard Latypov of Russia claimed the 12.5K Junior Men's Pursuit gold in 35:02.8, with two penalties, BelTA has learned.
Galina Vishnevskaya of Kazakhstan with two penalties became second, 15.4 seconds back. Third place went to clean-shooting Ukrainian Yulia Zhuravok, the gold medalist in the individual competition, 20.7 seconds behind. Zhuravok had a perfect clean shooting session at this YJWCH with all 50 closed targets so far.
As for the Belarusian athletes, Tatiana Trifonova was 27th (3:51.8 behind; 4 penalties), Yevgenia Yakovleva was 29th (4:23.2; 7), Anastasia Kunets came in 33rd (4:37.8; 4), Svetlana Markovskaya was 43rd (6:16.1; 4).
Silver in the 12.5K Junior men’s Pursuit went to Vemund Gurigard of Norway, 24.4 seconds back, with two missed targets. Bronze went to Russia’s Alexander Povarnitsyn, 28.1 seconds back, five penalties.
Maxim Vorobei of Belarus finished 17th, 3:03.5 behind with six penalties. Viktor Krivko finished 20th but was disqualified. Yevgeny Lipai was 37th (6:04.3; 7).
