MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – Japan’s junior biathlon national team is pleased with the training camp in Belarus, Japan’s Ambassador to Belarus Hiroki Tokunaga said at a meeting with Chairman of the Council of the Republic’s Permanent Commission on International Affairs and National Security Sergei Rakhmanov and the leadership of the Belarusian Biathlon Federation, BelTA learned from the federation.
Ambassador Hiroki Tokunaga thanked Belarus for a high-level organization of the training camp in the Novopolotsk State Olympic School for Japanese athletes, provision of necessary equipment and gear, and also the possibility to take part in the competitions of the first leg of the Belarusian Biathlon Federation Cup.
The parties expressed mutual interest in further development of relations between the two countries in sport. A preliminary agreement was reached to organize a training camp for the Japanese biathlon national team in Belarus.
The agreement on bilateral cooperation between the biathlon federations of Belarus and Japan was signed in 2015. The agreement envisages the exchange of experience in biathlon development, joint training of teams, improvement of material, technical and medical support of athletes.
