BREST, 1 December (BelTA) – The 28th international festival January Music Nights in the Belarusian city of Brest will bring together musicians from 16 countries, art director of the forum Lilia Batyreva said at a press conference on 1 December, BelTA has learned.
The forthcoming edition of the international festival will take place on 9 to 12 January. Partaking in the forum will be over 300 performers from different countries, including Vietnam, Italy, the United States, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and China.
Among the participants will be renowned musicians such as People’s Artist of Belarus Igor Olovnikov, Polish singer Joanna Nawrot, and Belarusian opera singers Taisia Zasim and Nina Zolotnitskaya. “There will also be young musicians. This year the list of participants is longer than ever before,” Lilia Batyreva noted.
The program of January Music Nights features concerts of Western European, Russian, and Belarusian music. Some pieces of music will be performed for the first time. American jazz musician Gary Guthman and his Jazz Quartet will present their new program in Brest. The concert will be devoted to singer Anna Wiktoria German.
Partaking in the festival will also be Russian opera singer Maria Maksakova, Czech pianist Tomas Visek, singers Agnese Pazienti (Italy), Vlada Vdovichenko (Ukraine), and Giovanni Coletta (Italy).
The 28th edition of the international festival January Music Nights has been organized by the Belarusian Culture Ministry, the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, the Brest City Hall, and the Brest Oblast Music Society.
