MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – Belarusian hammer thrower Ivan Tikhon claimed silver at the ongoing European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam, BelTA has learned.
The famous Belarusian athlete threw 78.84m in the final to clinch second place. Gold went to Pawel Fajdek of Poland (80.46m). His teammate Wojciech Nowicki collected bronze with his attempt of 77.53m. Belarusian hammer thrower Sergei Kolomoyets finished 6th (74.65m).
Ivan Tikhon’s silver has become the third medal of the Belarusian national team in Amsterdam. Javelin thrower Tatyana Kholodovich won gold, while runner Alina Talay clinched 100m Hurdles silver.
