MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Ilya Shimanovich of Belarus touched in 4th in the men’s 100m breaststroke at the 2021 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian reached the final with the sixth best result and clocked 58.75 seconds to finish fourth.
Adam Peaty of the UK secured his champion title in 57.66 seconds, ahead of second-placed Dutchman Arno Kamminga (58.10), with UK's James Wilby (58.58) in third.
Italy’s Simona Quadarella won the women’s 800m freestyle event in 8:20.23. Silver went to Russia’s Anastasia Kirpichnikova (8:21.88), with Russia’s Anna Egorova finishing third (8:26.56).
