MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) - Igor Boki of Belarus clinched five gold medals at the World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico City, BelTA has learned.
On the fourth day of the competitions the Belarusian claimed the champion title in the men’s 50m freestyle S13 event in 23.53 seconds and also in the men’s 100m breaststroke S13 in 1:06.17.
Earlier, Igor Boki won gold medals in the men’s 100m backstroke, the men’s 100m butterfly, and the men’s 400m freestyle.
Belarus also won two more silver medals on day four. Grigory Zudilov touched in second in the men’s 400m freestyle S11. Aleksandra Svadkovskaya was second in the women’s 100m Breaststroke.
The Belarusian team is currently sixth in the medal table with 13 (seven gold, five silver and one bronze) medals. China tops with 33 medals.
