MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Igor Boki of Belarus clinched three gold medals at the World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico City, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian won in the men’s 100m backstroke S13 in 57.45 seconds, the men’s 100m butterfly S13 in 54.75 seconds, and in the men’s 400m freestyle S13 in 4:03.74. Another two gold medals to the Belarusian team was brought by Grigory Zudilov was the first in the men’s 100m butterfly S11 (1:11.81) and in the men’s 100m freestyle S11 (1:01.27).
The Belarusian swimmers also clinched three silver medals. Natalya Shavel finished second in the women’s 100m breaststroke SB4. Grigory Zudilov touched in second in the men’s 100m backstroke S11. His sister Anna Zudilova was also second in the women’s 100m backstroke. Maksim Vashkevich was third in the men’s 100m backstroke.
At the previous World Para Swimming Championships in Glasgow, the Belarusian team won nine medals, including six gold medals by Igor Boki.
