MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 353 Uladzimir Ignatik reached the round of Last 16 at the Split Challenger in Croatia, BelTA has learned.
In the round of Last 32 the Belarusian solved Australia’s world number 185 Alex Bolt 6-4, 6-2. Uladzimir Ignatik will next play world number 213 Andrea Collarini of Argentine.
Uladzimir Ignatik had to go through the qualifying, defeating first world number 560 Mick Veldheer of the Netherlands 6-1, 6-3 and then world number 250 Wu Tung-lin of Chinese Taipei 7-6 (7-1), 6-3.
Belarus’ world number 115 Ilya Ivashka will face Spain’s world number 100 Pedro Martinez at the opener of the tournament in Spain’s Marbella.
Egor Gerasimov of Belarus, ranked 80 in the world, went off to a good start at the Sardegna Open in Cagliari, Italy on 5 April defeating Argentine’s world number 48 Guido Pella 6-4, 6-0. Egor Gerasimov will next play Slovenia’s world number 58 Aljaz Bedene.
