VITEBSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Events of the International Festival of Modern Choreography (IFMC) will be held in Minsk and Gomel for the first time, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk cultural center.
Rossini Overtures by Spellbound contemporary ballet (Italy) will premiere at the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus in Minsk on 20 November. The play will travel to Gomel on 22 November and then to Vitebsk on 25 November.
The Vitebsk audiences will also see plays from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. The forum will feature Kiev Modern Ballet (Ukraine), Evgeny Panfilov Ballet Theater, Sergey Bezrukov’s Moscow Theater (Russia). The festival will offer an international modern choreography contest, interactive lectures, academic master classes, workshops, panel sessions, exhibitions of Belarusian and Lithuanian paintings, sculptures and photography.
The festival is organized by the Vitebsk cultural center in cooperation with the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, the Culture Ministry, the Vitebsk City Hall, and the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus.
