MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Heads of international and national athletics federations will pay a visit to Minsk on 8-10 April to discuss current athletics development issues, BelTA has learned.
President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Lord Sebastian Coe and President of the European Athletics Association Svein Arne Hansen, as well as heads of other national athletics federations will come to the Belarsuian capital for the first time. At the conference which is due to take place in the National Olympic Committee, its participants will discuss the most important issues of cooperation among federations in advancing world athletics.
The program of the conference will also include working meetings for new members of the athletics federations. They will have an opportunity to share experience and get answers to their questions from the leading specialists of the European athletic sector.
According to Chairman of the Belarusian Athletics Federation Vadim Devyatovsky, such meetings of heads of European national athletics federations are held once in two years. “The fact that Minsk got the right to host such a forum is our little victory and progress in advancing the Belarusian athletics on the international arena,” he said. According to the head of the Belarusian Athletics Federation, about 100 specialists are expected to attend the event.
