MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The big-name Canadian forward Phil Esposito will be a special guest at the 14th Christmas amateur tournament for the prize of the President of Belarus, which kicks off at Chizhovka Arena in Minsk on 4 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation.
The ice hockey legend will come to Minsk on 4 January at the invitation of the Chinese team which will make its debut at the competition.
Team Canada center forward Phil Esposito claimed two Stanley Cup titles with the Boston Bruins. He led the 1972 Canada–USSR Super Series in scoring and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984.
