MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Three-time Olympic medalist Belarusian swimmer Aliaksandra Herasimenia met with a group of Syrian children at the National Olympic Committee. The children have come to Belarus on recuperation holidays, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry.
The Belarusian athlete talked to the guests who were primarily interested in how Aliaksandra Herasimenia gets ready for competitions, which races and swimming styles she likes the most.
The Syrian delegation comprises 170 people, including 36 students who go in for volleyball, basketball and swimming.
On 22-25 January the national children’s educational and health center Zubryonok will host competitions with the participation of athletes of the national state Olympic reserve college and also sports schools of Minsk, Molodechno and Vileika.
The guests have already visited the Belarusian State University of Physical Education. The program of the visit will also include Minsk Arena, the National Olympic Freestyle Center.
The visit of the Syrian children in Belarus will be wrapped up with a big sport event titled as Sport, You Are My World in Zubryonok.
