Grodno hosts Marathon of Unity

Grodno hosts Marathon of Unity

GRODNO, 17 January (BelTA) - Grodno is hosting the nationwide social and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity. Chairman of the Grodno City Executive Committee Andrei Khmel shared the plans to develop the regional center and build new social facilities here, BelTA has learned.

"The marathon will use over 20 venues. The program includes exhibitions, meet-and-greets, concerts, meetings with labor collectives, a gala concert. Every event is significant," he said.

He emphasized that people are very positive about the Marathon of Unity. They are looking forward to it. "Everything is relative," Andrei Khmel stated. "Our life is changing for the better year by year. Elder people remember well how our independence began, what difficulties we had to face. Thanks to our strong leader, who united the Belarusian people, we have truly moved forward. This can be seen in the development of enterprises, healthcare, education, all-round improvement. Currently, we are leading in many areas. This is worth a lot, as citizens of our country invested in Belarus' development with their labor and unity."

According to Andrei Khmel, the construction and launch of a number of social facilities in Grodno is scheduled for 2025. There are many plans to build roads, develop transportation infrastructure, repair and improve courtyards. The construction of the bypass ring-road will continue. Several overpasses and bridges will be reconstructed. Special attention will be paid to the construction of the city hospital, which was inaugurated by the president. Construction of the regional cancer center will also continue.

"It is important to fulfill the task set by the president: put things in the country in order," Andrei Khmel emphasized. "This year will be a landmark one both for the country and for Grodno."

He recalled that in three years Grodno will celebrate its 900th anniversary. Everything that is done both in the city and in the country is first of all done for the people, Andrei Khmel stressed.
