MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) - Writers from 9 countries will gather for the 12th Festival of National Cultures in Grodno, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry of Belarus.
The events celebrating the modern Belarusian literature and cultural relations between the countries will be held on 1 June. Taking part in them will be representatives of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and France.
The seminar “Artistic text in the original and translation” will gather writers, publicists, researchers, translators, and representatives of publishing houses from different countries.
A round table of Belarusian and foreign writers “Dialogue of Literatures - Dialogue of Cultures” will take place on the same day. Participants of the meeting will discuss the current state of international literary relations, the role of artistic translation of national literatures, and other issues.
The festival is organized by the Information Ministry of Belarus, Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, Grodno City Hall, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, Karsky Scientific Library, Grodno State History and Archeology Museum, the Union of Writers of Belarus, the publishing house Zvyazda, and the publishing house Khudozhestvennaya Literatura.
