GOMEL, 24 October (BelTA) – An international conference to discuss new strategies for promoting healthy lifestyles will take place at Gomel State Medical University on 25-26 October, BelTA learned from the university.
Taking part in the forum will be healthcare professionals and representatives of medical schools from six countries – Belarus, Russia, Poland, Japan, Italy and Spain.
The program includes meetings to study best practices in healthcare provision by general practitioners, the fight against non-communicable diseases, and the use of digital technologies. There are plans to hold a roundtable discussion on the topic "Compliance: doctors, patients, media. Meeting each other halfway". During a panel discussion experts will analyze the prevalence of risk factors for non-communicable diseases and review modern approaches to promoting healthy lifestyles. Following the discussions, an electronic collection of reports and other materials will be published.
Among the main objectives of the conference is the exchange of best practices by specialists who address strategic tasks related to public health system performance, promotion of healthy lifestyles, improvement of the quality of life, including for patients suffering from various diseases.
The event is organized by the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry and Gomel State Medical University.
