GOMEL, 1 April (BelTA) – The Days of Russian Film will take place in Gomel Oblast on 2-8 April, BelTA learnt from senior editor of the repertory planning department at Gomelkinovideoprokat Company Svetlana Tarasenko.
The cinema houses of Gomel and its oblast will screen the latest Russian films such as Women against Men, Ghost, Master of Equilibrium. Mystery of the Sukharev Tower 3D, Happiness Is, and Sergei Mokritsky’s military drama The Battle of Sevastopol. The film starring Yulia Peresild and Yevgeny Tsyganov tells the story of legendary female sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko.
The Battle of Sevastopol will premiere at the Gomel Kalinin Cinema House and all digital cinema theaters of the oblast on 2 April. The evening screening in the oblast center will be preceded by an exhibition of photographs about women at war, a meeting with female war veterans and an exposition of ship models and weapons.
“The money raised during the events will be used to restore the monument to the killed Komsomol members in Gomel,” Svetlana Tarasenko said.
The Days of Russian Film is one of numerous events planed in the south-eastern region of Belarus to mark the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia celebrated on 2 April. Gomel is expected to mark the Unity Day with a solemn meeting and a concert on 2 April.
