MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Alexandra Gerasimenya has set a new record for Belarus in the 50m backstroke event at the ongoing Swim Open Stockholm in Sweden, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian clocked 27.53 seconds in the final to finish first. Silver went to Russia’s Anastasia Fesikova (28.26). Ida Lindborg of Sweden touched in third in 28.39.
Belarus’ previous record of 27.57 seconds in the 50m backstroke was set by Alexandra Gerasimenya in 2009.
