Georgia House opens in Minsk
Festival of the Georgian culture Tbilisoba

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Georgia’s Partnership Fund has opened Georgia House in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The project was implemented with the support of the Belarusian government. Georgia House is meant to strengthen trade, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries, facilitate export of organic products from Georgia, enhance cooperation between Belarusian and Georgian business communities, and promote Georgian traditions, history, and culture.

Georgia House comprises a museum of wine, an enoteca, a showcase of unique items reflecting the 8000-year history of the Georgian winemaking, exhibition, conference, and presentation halls, as wells as a wine shop, a store of Georgian organic products, a wine cellar, and a bakery.

Taking part in the opening ceremony were CEO of the Partnership Fund David Saganelidze, Georgian Ambassador to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia, and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.

David Saganelidze noted that he is happy to see the development of Belarus-Georgia relations and the opening of Georgia House in Minsk is a testimony to that. He pointed out that the idea of the project emerged during Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit to Georgia.

“Belarus is one of Georgia’s strategic trade and economic partners, this is why we should use the potential of cooperation to the full extent,” David Saganelidze said. He expressed hope that local residents and tourists will find Georgia House one of the most interesting and appealing places in Minsk.

The opening of Georgia House took place during the festival of the Georgian culture Tbilisoba.
