MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – CSKA Moscow forward Geoff Platt will join the Belarusian national ice hockey team in a friendly against Canada ahead of the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. The match is scheduled to take place in Riga on 6 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation.
The coaching staff of the Belarusian national team has named the roster for the forthcoming training camp and a friendly. Dave Lewis’ team will include 26 players, including 14 players from HC Dinamo Minsk. Dinamo Minsk’s players Marc-Andre Gragnani and Quinton Howden may play for Canada in the oncoming match.
The Belarusian training camp will open at Minsk Arena on 29 January. The Belarusian team will travel to Moscow to play Russia on 30 January. On 1 February Belarus will play the Russian national junior team.
Vladimir Denisov, Dmitry Korobov, Andrei Kostitsyn, Pavel Vorobei, Roman Graborenko (all – Kunlun Red Star, KHL) and Nikolai Stasenko (Severstal) will not be able to take part in the training camp.
