MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian capital hosted the first concert of the project Jazz Saturdays at Minsk Town Hall on 11 June, BelTA learned from the press center of Minsk City Hall.
The Saturday night performance featured Polish signer Mieczyslaw Szczesniak and the trio of eminent Polish jazz pianist Krzysztof Herdzin, rising American vocal star Sachal Vasandani, and Belarusian band Apple Tea.
Two more concerts will be held on 18 and 25 June. Partaking in this year’s edition of the music project will also be British jazz singer Ian Shaw, Konstantin Goryachy Trio (Belarus), French-German duet of pianist Bojan Z and trombonist Nils Wogram, Romanian singer Elena Mindru, and Anatoly Taran Trio from Belarus.
The jazz project has been organized by the international social and economic fund Idea with the support of Minsk City Hall.
The cultural project was founded four years ago. This year, it has brought together musicians from a record number of countries. Jazz Saturdays at Minsk Town Hall is a unique project growing year by year, gathering world’s jazz stars, and attracting an even-increasing audience. The jazz festival opens Belarus’ summer music season which lasts till the end of August.
