MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won four medals at the 2017 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Kazan, BelTA has learned.
Belarus won silver with Five Hoops, finishing behind Russia. Bronze went to Japan. Belarus claimed bronze with Three Balls and Two Ropes. Silver went to Bulgaria, with gold collected by Russia. The Individual Ball silver went to Yekaterina Galkina of Belarus. Russia’s Arina Averina won gold, with bronze going to Israel’s Linoy Ashram. Belarus’ Yekaterina Galkina was also third in the four-routine program (hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon).
Taking part in the 2017 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Kazan were 145 athletes from 33 countries. Belarus fielded eight gymnasts. The 35th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2017 are due to take place in Pesaro, Italy on 29 August-3 September.
