MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes claimed four gold medals at the World Sambo Cup “Memorial of Anatoly Kharlampiev” 2018 in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
Evgeny Ilyukhin clinched gold in the men’s 90kg event. Evgeny Aleksiyevich took the champion title in the men’s 80kg combat sambo. Kseniya Danilovich collected gold in the women’s 52kg event. Yekaterina Kalyuzhnaya was victorious in the women’s 80kg.
Silver medals were taken by Alexander Kruglik (82kg) and Karina Shut (72kg).
Bronze medals went to Ilya Zhupikov (+100kg), Vladislav Sayapin (68kg), Mariya Kondratyeva (80kg), and Vera Garelikova (60kg).
The international Memorial of Anatoly Kharlampiev was established in 1980 and was staged in the Druzhba Sports Arena on 10-11 October 1980, the year of the Olympics in Moscow. In 1983 the competitions got category A, so the winners of the world cup become masters of sports of international class.
In 2015 the competitions were added into the World Sambo Cup calendar. Over 300 athletes from 28 countries take part in the tournament every year.
