VITEBSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Three gymnasiums and one secondary school in Belarus have been awarded Label France Education for offering a French bilingual program, BelTA learned from the press service of the French Embassy in Belarus.
These are Gymnasium No. 1 in Novopolotsk, Gymnasium No. 9 in Vitebsk, Secondary School No.15 in Brest and Gymnasium No. 1 in Soligorsk. The award has been also presented to three schools in Russia, and one in Ukraine. All in all, twenty schools have been honored in the latest ceremony
In addition to teaching French, these Belarusian schools also teach other disciplines such as sociology and economy of France. According to French language teacher of Novopolotsk Gymnasium No. 1 Olga Sasina, the gymnasium hosts French Culture Days, Francophonie Days, and also runs an acting program in French.
In the near future representatives of gymnasiums will receive high awards from French diplomats.
Label France Education gives a privileged access to services that enhance the quality of teaching. Among them are teachers’ training courses, financial support for innovative pedagogical activities, participation in seminars of managers or coordinators of bilingual francophone educational institutions, and also interactive cultural proposals. Its also provides an opportunity to promote schools, share information, resources and experience with other schools and gymnasiums worldwide.
Label France Education is a seal of quality awarded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to schools teaching bilingual Francophone curricula. It is awarded to the best bilingual programs that provide an in-depth study of the French language and at least one non-linguistic discipline.
