MOGILEV, 24 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ Krasnopolye will host a festival of amateur theaters on 24-26 November as part of the EU/UNDP project Support to Local Development in the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the Mogilev District Executive Committee.
Taking part in the forum will be 15 theater companies from Belarus, Russia, Lithuania and Latvia. Children will be treated to fairy tales, contests and entertainment programs. The Mogilev Theater of Stilt Walkers will invite to its show Merry Giants. The Krasnopolye Folk Theater, which turns 100 in 2018, will feature its comedy drama A Dog with a Gold Tooth.
The program of the forum will also include comedy Business Class Ward (Liozno Folk Theater, Belarus), Simply Chekhov (Around the Corner Theater in Gatchina, Russia), new drama Moscow Dreaming (Centre for Experimental Directing of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Minsk), drama March (Daugavpils Theater, Latvia), Good Bye, Berlin! (Gallery Theater Studio, Yekaterinburg, Russia), Clown Lelik and his Joyful Orchestra (Lelik Clowning Theater, Mogilev), and others.
The festival will also feature a number of master classes and a closing ceremony with the performance of the oblast’s best music bands.
The festival was first held in 1993 under the initiative of Honored Figure of Art of Belarus, Director of the Krasnopolye Folk Theater Valentin Yermolovich.
