MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Foreign visitors will be able to enter Belarus on presentation of the 2018 FIFA World Cup FAN ID or its electronic copy, Deputy Head of the Border Control Department of the State Border Committee of Belarus Alexander Shpilenya told the media on 1 June, BelTA informs.
To cross the Belarusian border a foreign traveler must present a valid passport, a FAN ID or its electronic copy, Alexander Shpilenya said.
The State Border Committee of Belarus said that the number of fans may increase depending on matches to be played. Some matches will take place in Kaliningrad, which means that fans will be going there not only from Europe, but also from Russia across Belarus and Lithuania. Belarusian border guards will do their best to ensure fast movement of fans across the border. According to the representative of the State Border Committee, big border checkpoints with necessary infrastructure will allocate special corridors for traveling fans. “We have discussed the matter with the border services of the neighboring countries and agreed on the exchange of real-time information regarding the arrival of fans,” he said.
As BelTA informed earlier, the visa-free entry regime based on the Fan ID will be only available from 4 June through 25 July.
