MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – The Madeira 2024 Para Swimming European Open Championships have kicked off in Funchal, Portugal, featuring 435 competitors from all over the world, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.
The first competition day included a total of 26 medal events. 16-time Paralympic champion Ihar Boki claimed gold in the 100m butterfly S13. Maksim Vashkevich collected the 100m backstroke S12 bronze.
The competitions in Madeira will be running through 27 April.
