MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Yulia Kovalevskaya won the first award for Team Belarus at the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games in Switzerland as she came in third in the 10km Individual, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian cleared the distance in 33:39, allowing three misses on four shooting ranges. Russian Alena Mokhova was first with the result of 32:26, two misses. Silver went to French Jeanne Richard who crossed the finish line in 33:30 (2 misses).
Other Belarusians finished the race far away from the pedestal. Daria Kabisheva finished in 45th (6:26 behind the winning time and 5 misses). Viktoria Shashkova was 84th (12:45, 3 misses). A total of 93 athletes finished the race.
