MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – First delegations of the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest will arrive in Minsk on 17 November, BelTA learned from the press service of Belteleradiocompany.
“Delegations of the countries participating in the 2018 Junior Eurovision will arrive in the Belarusian capital on 17-18 November. Rehearsals will start on 20 November. Rehearsals are currently held at Minsk Arena with technical backups that temporarily replace real performers,” Belteleradiocompany said.
The opening ceremony of the international children's song contest will take place at the Belexpo National Exhibition Center on 19 November to kick off a big Euroweek. All 20 delegations of the participating countries will go along the red carpet and share their impressions with journalists. Taking part in the ceremony will be over 300 people, including contestants and their delegations, invited guests, volunteers, Belarusian and foreign journalists.
“The official start to the Euroweek will be given by Chairman of Belteleradiocompany Ivan Eismont and Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest Jon Ola Sand. Denis Dudinsky and Anna Kviloriya will be the hosts of the grand show,” Belteleradiocompany said.
The Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 channels will broadcast a TV version of the opening ceremony of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. It will also be aired on the official website of the media holding company www.tvr.by. Besides, all the details about the children's song contest can be learned from Light up! Diaries aired on the Belarus 1 at 20.55 on weekdays, and at 20.15 on Sundays.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Minsk Arena on 25 November. The organizer and coordinator of the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest is the Belteleradiocompany as the country’s only member in the European Broadcasting Union. Daniel Yastremsky will represent Belarus at the contest this year. He won the national selection with his song Time.
