MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – Fifteen Belarusians who have recovered from COVID-19 have already donated their blood plasma, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.
The National Scientific and Practical Center of Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnology plans to use plasma transfusion to help patients with the severe form of the virus.
The first six Belarusians donated blood plasma in Minsk. More people became donors in Vitebsk on 21 April. Specialists of the regional blood transfusion center collected blood plasma with COVID-19 antibodies from Belarusians who have recovered from the coronavirus. In the coming days, people are invited to give immune plasma in the center for transfusiology of Minsk City Teaching Hospital No.6. Plans are in place to organize blood plasma collection in all regional centers for transfusiology.
The Healthcare Ministry has called on coronavirus survivors to become donors and help doctors save people with the severe form of the coronavirus.
