MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – The most coveted trophy in global football, the World Cup trophy will come to Belarus for the first time on 13 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Football Federation.
The trophy will come to Minsk from Vienna as part of the 51-country tour that includes 91 cities.
The World Cup trophy will be exhibited from 15:00 till 22:00 at the Falcon Club sports and entertainment complex to make the next stop in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The final part of the FIFA World Cup trophy journey will cover the cities of Russia which is to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The competitions will take place from 14 June to 15 July and will be hosted by 11 Russian cities: Moscow, St Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, and Saransk. The 2018 FIFA World Cup final will take place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
