MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Eugine Chaplin, the son of the great comedian Charlie Chaplin, will join the jury of Idol-Belarus, the first international circus arts festival, BelTA learned from the directorate of the festival.

“Idol-Belarus will take place in Gomel State Circus from 13 to 16 September. The jury of the festival will be composed of big-name circus directors, impresari and iconic cultural figures and also Eugene Chaplin, the filmmaker, screenwriter, son of the great comedian Charlie Chaplin,” the directorate noted.

The festival will feature five shows. Currently the directorate is being busy selecting applications and developing the program of the upcoming cultural events. The directorate has already reviewed more than seven dozen acts.

Organizers are paying special attention to the cultural program for foreign artists and guests. The must-see list will include visits to the iconic sights of the region, including the Palace of Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs.

The organizer of the first International Circus Arts Festival Idol-Belarus is Gomel State Circus. The project has been initiated by People's Artists of Russia Askold and Edgard Zapashny and will be held under the patronage of the Culture Ministry of Belarus.
