MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) – Teams from eight countries will participate in the 11th Christmas Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament for the Prize of the President of Belarus on 4-7 January 2016. This time all the matches will be held at Chizhovka Arena, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
The tournament will bring together teams from Belarus, Slovakia, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates (Group A) and Russia, Finland, Germany, Sweden (Group B). Group A will be based on the main arena of Chizhovka Arena, Group B on the small arena.
On the final day of the tournament, on 7 January, the teams placed second will play in the bronze-medal game (13.00). The first-placed teams will compete for the main prize in a match at 19.00. Both matches will be held on the main arena of Chizhovka Arena.
Admission to the matches is free.
The team of the President of Belarus is the eight-time winner of the Christmas international tournament (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014). Team Russia is a three-time champion (2007, 2011 and 2015).
