MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes clinched eight medals at the European Throwing Cup 2019 in Samorin, Slovakia, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Athletics Federation.
Champion titles were claimed by Tatyana Kholodovich in javelin (65.89m), Anna Malyshchik in hammer (74.95m), and Aleksei Kotkovets in javelin (82.45m). Belarusian athletes also won four silver medals in Samorin: Anastasia Maslova in hammer throwing (68.13m), Aleksandra Konshina in javelin (55.27m), Evgeny Bogutsky in U23 discus (61.28m, overall personal best), Oleg Tomashevich in shot-put (19.38m). Bronze went to Alexander Shimanovich in the men's U23 hammer (72.36m).
According to the Belarusian Athletics Federation, the results in Samorin show the potential of Belarusian athletes, many of whom are under 23. The Belarusian men’s team placed atop in the European Throwing Cup team overall standings.
