MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – Darya Domracheva of Belarus finished third in the women’s 10K pursuit at BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2 in Hochfilzen on 9 December, BelTA has learned.
The three-time Olympic champion maintained her lead until the first standing stage when the Belarusian had a penalty to give way to Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia who won the race in 28:51.4, with one penalty. Kaisa Makarainen of Finland passed sprint winner Darya Domracheva in the final meters to take second place, with two penalties, 10.2 seconds back. Domracheva, with a single penalty, finished 11.8 seconds behind Kuzmina.
Clean shooting Irina Krivko of Belarus came in ninth, 1:19.4 behind the winner. Nadezhda Skardino finished 19th, 2:04.1 back, with two penalties.
Kaisa Makarainen of Finland is currently leading the World Cup standings with 196 points. Nadezhda Skardino goes seventh with 164 points. Darya Domracheva is 12th with 135 points.
